Holiday Sessions and Specials | Houston Photographer

I cannot believe we have already hit September! That means we only have a little over 3 months to fit your holiday sessions in. Like last year, I will be taking a much needed break in early December and will be on vacation until March 1st.

That being said, my LAST session date for the 2011 season will be DECEMBER 11th. I will re-open in March for the Spring season. This does not apply to those who have an upcoming birth or newborn session or to those who are on a Baby Plan. We will still hold your sessions. :)

Starting next week, I will be taking only 1-2 sessions a week through December 11th. Plus, the earlier you hold your session, the bigger discount off your holiday session you will get. If you hold your session in September, you can take $20 off either session fee. If you hold your session in October, you can take $10 off either session fee. Pricing in November will be what you see in the specials below.

I am offering two Holiday sessions this year. The Holly and The Jolly. Session fee is due at time of booking to guarantee your desired time/date. Once you contact me with your session time, I will send you an invoice for the session fee.

Week of the 6th: 2 Sessions Available

December:

4th-11th: 3 Sessions Available

After the 11th, I will be closed for the holidays and will re-open in March. Please call me if your session is in regards to a birth or newborn session or a baby’s milestone.

Wee Wuns 21st Annual Fall Festival and Silent Auction | HOuston and Cypress Photographer

Just wanted to share with all of you that Wee Wuns Weekday Ministries will be having their 21st Annual Fall Festival and Silent Auction. It is this Saturday from 10-2. It is loads of fun for the kids. The Silent Auction is huge with over 60 items donated from local businesses as well as over 30 themed baskets (cars, UT, Texas A&M, crafts, scrapbooking, etc) up for bid.

Along with the silent auction are games, food, costume contest, bake sale, etc.

You don’t want to miss out! If you stop by the silent auction, you will see that I am auctioning off a session complete with a 16×20 print as well as one of my 16×20 whimsical frames to put it in. I will have an example of the frame up at the auction so that you can check out this new item. Make sure you stop by and join in on all of the fun!

Thirsty Thursday | Houston and Cypress Photographer

The holidays are near. Can you believe we have finally gotten into September!? Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. There are so many festivals and activities to do. Not to mention the weather! Love it!

I am bringing back Thirsty Thursdays. It is for everyone out there that are thirsty for fantabulous crafts and hand-made items. Every Thursday I will host a new vendor on my blog to let them show-off their goods. I am looking for more craftalicious people out there who would like to get in on the schedule, so if you would like your items showcased on the blog, send me an email at info@stephanieshirley.com.

Today’s Thirsty Thursday vendor is someone that I have worked with for a year now. Can you believe it has been that long, Kim? Kimberly, with Send-Sations, makes incredibly adorable cards for all occasions. She gives you a couple of sized cards to choose from OR you have the option to purchase the digital file to have the printing done on your own. There are so many options when printing through Kimberly… textures, glossy, non-glossy, etc. She is so flexible and makes sure that every client is getting exactly what they want. I have had clients pick a card and change the color, fonts, wording, etc and she does  it in a blink of an eye.

Since Kimberly and I have such a great relationship, it makes it even easier on you this holiday season to get your photo holiday cards out to your friends and family. Simply pick one of my Fall Mini Portrait Session Packages or one of my Holiday Packages and you’ll be browsing through Send-Sations site to pick out that great card.

Fall Mini Portrait Sessions | Houston and Cypress Child Photographer

Another special announced! Here are my Fall Mini Sessions. They are 10-15 minutes long and at a location that I choose. It will most likely be in the Cypress area at a local pumpkin patch. You can dress the kiddos in their Fall best, bring the whole family or bring the kids in their Halloween costumes.

With each session, I will post 5-10 images in a password protected gallery where you can choose which you would like on a CD. There are two packages to choose from, but both give you 3 digital files placed on a CD with limited print release for printing up to an 11×14.

For my Spice package, you will be able to select an adorable Fall/Thanksgiving/Halloween card from a vendor I have paired up with. Stay tuned for today’s Thirsty Thursday for examples of some cute cards.

Holiday Packages 2010 | Houston, Cypress, Katy Family Photographer

Here they are! I am offering 3 different packages this year. Each session lasts 30-40 minutes. I will not limit the amount of outfit changes for the kiddos, but prefer that the adults do not change clothing during the session. These sessions were made for the busy people in mind, so they don’t allow a lot of time to stop for outfit changes.

Sessions must be held by December 12th. I will be closing down for the holiday season after that time and will re-open by the end of January 2011.

Sessions are held at a location of your choice, but I would be more than happy to recommend a location for you.

For those of you that recently sent a retainer fee to me to lock yourself into my old pricing, I have great news for you! You can apply that retainer fee to one of these packages and you can place your order for my old print pricing.

Today is also Thirsty Thursday, so be on the lookout for today’s vendor. (hint: she is craftacious at making cards)

Updates Galore | Houston Family and Child Photographer

Wow, what a wonderfully busy summer the boys and I have had. It is coming to a close and my first born is starting Kindergarten on Monday. I cannot believe it!

I hope that everyone has enjoyed their summer like we did. Just wanted to give a quick shout to let you know what to look forward to in the upcoming months. I will start announcing and restructuring in the next couple of weeks, so check back soon.

1. I will be continuing my “For the Teachers” promotion throughout the school year. Be on the lookout for June’s Spotlight Teacher as well as August’s Spotlight teacher. I’ll have them up on the blog soon. I will re-open the form in September for October’s Teacher, so be ready to nominate your very hardworking and special educator.

2. I will be restructuring my pricing, as of September 1st. Any sessions booked before then will be locked into the current pricing even if your session is held after the pricing changes occur.

3. I plan on offering Back-to-School Minis in September. Sessions will be about 20 minutes and pricing will be built as a package (session and prints). There will be limited sessions, so be ready to grab one while you can.

4. I will also be offering Halloween/Fall Minis and they will work a lot like the Back-to-School Minis.

5. Now is the time to start thinking about your Holiday portraits. Stephanie Shirley Photography will be doing portraits through the first week of December and then will shut down until after the holidays.I will be updating the schedule within the next couple of weeks that will run through December.

6. I plan on bringing Thirsty Thursdays back, so if you are craftastic and would liked to be hosted on the blog to strut your stuff, shoot me an email and I will start getting a schedule going. (info@stephanieshirley.com)

6. Lastly, I am adding more products to the boutique and I cannot wait to show them to you!
