Peek of Elijah

I recently posted a peek of a really cute couple expecting their first child. Since that session they have actually welcomed their sweet boy into this world. I have big regrets in admitting that I was not able to attend their birth. Luckily I had a very talented photographer/close friend on call to be my back-up photographer. I know that she really enjoyed being there to witness all of the emotions that were laid out during this birth. Everything went really well up until Mom was at 7 cm dilated and her temperature wouldn’t come down. Not to mention, baby’s heart beat started acting up a bit. It became vital to have an emergency c-section to ensure the health of Mom and Baby Elijah. Everything went well during the c-section and Mom and Baby are now doing great.

I will not be posting the slideshow until after his newborn session, so for now, you will have to live with a few peeks from his birth session.

Blossoming | Houston and Cypress Maternity Photographer

This maternity shoot has been very much in anticipation. I was contacted by this beautiful couple VERY shortly after finding out that they were expecting. Their first goal was to book a birth session and later decided to add on a maternity and newborn session for the complete package. This Momma had a lot of practice posing for maternity sessions since I think she had about 3 other from friends and photographers looking to build their portfolio. I must say that she and her husband definitely rocked the session. Literally! I got the opportunity to hear Dad play a very sweet melody. I hope to hear more of it soon!

This sneak peek is extremely late seeing as I have been struggling with computer issues (finally fixed!). Better late than never, though because I would not want to go without sharing this sweet couple.

Let me start out by saying that photographers have the ability to enhance the way people’s eyes look. Make them clearer, more prominent. This is something I have played around with in my early photography days but something I do not do. I mention this because this little boy’s eyes are so striking it is almost mesmerizing. What a doll! I love interacting with babies this age because you can tell that their little world is opening right before their eyes. They can really start to interact with the people around them, and with that, you get some very odd expressions. Plus it was so sweet to watch big sister with him and eat up the camera on her own.
