About

A little bit about me.

I have always had an interest in arts. I remember graduating from high school and my mom made the comment “Are you sure you want to major in Biology instead of being some kind of art major?” I thought, being the teenager I was, “Thanks, Mom, for having so much faith in me.” I mean, sheesh!, did she not think it would be possible for me to do well as a science major? What is that saying?… “A mother knows best”. Yes, that’s the one, but did I listen? No. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a major in Kinesiology (Health and Physical Education) and a minor in Psychology with the pursuit of going on to get my master’s in physical therapy.

What happened, you say? Life. It was a mere 5 years ago when I made the walk to receive my diploma and I am now a wife and mother to 3, yes 3, boys. So, I picked up a hobby. That’s what I call it. Only, it has become more serious than that. A lot of self-teaching and support from friends has gotten me to the place I am at.

I love to watch people as they talk and smile and laugh and try to really see them for who they are. As I sit having a conversation with someone, whether 2 or 50, I find myself watching them and seeing the life that resides deep down in them, aksing myself “who is this person and what makes them who they are?” Then I see it, a smirk, an eye roll, an all out belly laugh and think “Stop, hold it right there” as I get the urge to grab my camera and capture it.

As parents, we look at our children doing everyday things and find ourselves marveling in their creation and beauty. This is what I strive to capture, this is what has become my obsession.
