Frequently Asked Questions
How does this session work exactly?
From the moment you become an official client, we communicate throughout your pregnancy and you’ll notify me at the start of labor so that I can prepare my family to join you. Updates on how labor is progressing is key. I’ll be waiting for the notification that you have reached an active labor phase or 6-7 cm. Once I arrive, I am there with you for the long haul. Through the rest of labor, through delivery and up to 2 hours after baby is born.
Will you be capturing intimate and private details throughout the session?
Absolutely. This session is first and foremost a documentary session. I capture everything, but I also try and grab angles where the images/video have a more modest feel as well. Do I have to share them with anyone else? Not necessarily. Once you’ve been able to view your gallery and birth film, you will be given a quick model release to sign to specify which types of images (if any) is okay to share. If you choose to keep your gallery private, that’s okay.
I would love to have pictures of my older children meeting the baby, is this an option?
Absolutely! I love capturing sibling moments. Keep in mind, though, that babies come when they come and it can quite possibly be in the middle of the night. You might want to think about what happens if you deliver at 2 am and whether you want to wake your other children. I recommend that if siblings and family members join, that they plan to do so about an hour after the baby is born.
How long before we get our gallery of images and how many images will be delivered to our gallery?
The turnaround time for delivering galleries of images is 2-3 weeks and the birth film is 4-6 weeks. Although I will be switching back and forth between still images and video throughout your session, there is no set amount of images promised for your gallery. My focus is on film first and foremost.
Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely. In order to book lock-in your due date on the calendar, I do require a non-refundable retainer of $400 which is applied to your balance. From there, you choose how much you want to pay and when you want to pay throughout the remainder of your pregnancy. I just ask that your balance be paid in full by 36 weeks.
What happens if...?
