Houston Birth Photographer | Madeleine

I was lucky enough to meet this amazing family as a gift through another family member. I was called to see if she could purchase a birth session for their last baby and set it up so that many family members could actually gift them monetary donations toward the session. After months of going back and forth, I was thrilled to finally meet this mama in person and talk about her vision for the session and hear about her previous deliveries. She expected it to be quick and much like her last. Unfortunately the plan didn't quite go that way, and her labor dragged on over multiple days and included having to deal with a stomach virus. Exhausted, they checked into the hospital for the 3rd time on Sunday night and the decision was made to keep her not only to hydrate her and get her well, but to help Madeleine along. Monday, I waited impatiently for the call that it was time for me to come. I finally got invited into the party of people watching mom's labor show.

Things started to go downhill shortly thereafter as Madeleine's heart rate continued to drop and keep from getting into normal ranges once stable. After the last episode, the decision was made to get her out and quickly since her heart rate had been down for a while. At 6:45 pm, mom was rushed out of her L&D room and into the OR. Madeleine made her appearance just 6 short minutes later at 6:51 pm. All 8 lbs 13 oz of her. She came out perfect and with her cord wrapped around her ankle twice.

Happy birthday, Sweet Madeleine Florence! It was an honor to meet you.
