I had the honor of getting to witness another beautiful home birth last month. Mom was anxious for delivery because she was unsure whether Dad would make it back from Africa before Annika's arrival. Luckily, he made it back in plenty of time to get settled in before she chose her BIRTHday. Once labor started, things progresses fairly quickly. I was able to get a couple hours of sleep in before getting called out at midnight to head to their home. Then, just a couple hours later, Annie peacefully made her way into her mom's arms. I loved getting to catch up with Sandra, her midwife, since it had been years since I have worked with her. Actually she attended my very first home/water birth. She is so calm and gentle with mom and baby, it really is amazing to see.
